In addition to having a great place to showcase our vintage
MotoDoffo Motorcycle Collection, we now have, much needed,
extra room to host wine club events and produce our wines.

We are settling in and really enjoying our new building.

Silver Medal Winner 2011
Doffo 2008 Zinfandel
We
just got word that our 2008 Zinfandel was awarded a Silver medal in the
Inland Empire Magazine Wine Awards issue, coming out in April. We are
so proud for this honor. This was Marcelo's first Zinfandel. It truly
embodies all of his passion and experience. An all time favorite, this
wine has been sold out for some time. For those of you who still have
some on the shelf, salute!

RANCH AND COAST MAGAZINE
SoCal's Wine Country
10/11/11
On a hilltop high above the verdant Temecula Valley, Damian Doffo points to a distinctive notch carved into the Coastal Mountain Range ten miles to the West. “That V,” he says, “is exactly what makes this such a great wine growing region.” Doffo, a second generation vintner, is referring to gaps in the range that allow cool ocean breezes to pass into the hot valley, moderating temperatures and creating ideal conditions — warm days and cool nights — for growing grapes. Pioneered by Ely Callaway, who opened the first winery in 1974 (he would later become known for golf as well as grapes), the Temecula Valley is now home to more than 35 wineries, each with its own personality, from Doffo, a family-run boutique winery, to the expansive South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, with its high-end villas and handsome restaurant.
Stop by Doffo Winery, and 27-year-old Damian will likely be working the crowded tasting room with his family. “This is my work horse, my ‘go to,’” he says, pouring a sample of the winery’s 2009 Syrah. “It goes great with T-bone steak and mashed potatoes.”
A new production facility, called the “Moto Barrel Room,” which opened in late September, also houses the family’s collection of vintage motorcycles, mostly Ducatis, which Marcelo Doffo, Damian’s dad, restores (and both of them race). Marcelo immigrated to the United States from Argentina in 1975, fixing up wrecked cars and flipping them until he opened a body shop in Santa Ana. The family became “backyard winemakers,” eventually buying land in Temecula in 1997. Their big, full-bodied reds, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Zinfandel, now sell out within a few months on the shelves. “It was really humbling,” says Damian. “It was never meant to be this. We just started out making wines for family and friends.” The Doffos believe big isn’t better. “We would rather produce 1,000 cases of high-quality wine rather than thousands that are lesser.” But wine isn’t the only product in demand — just try to snag mom Zulma’s fiery chimichurri, made with parsley, garlic, more garlic, and a secret Argentinian spice — she sells out of 100 jars a week. TESTIMONIALS

Best Red Wine in the Temecula valley! I have been a wine club member Since 2007 I think... This is a small family operation and you will find Zulma pouring most days. There are tons of restored motorcycles in their tasting room.
I love all their Cabernets and Zinfandels they started producing. In fact I always got a few of each aging which will only making them smoother, but there is nothing wrong with drinking their wine right now either.

In a land of poo wine, where do you go? You go to Doffo, Mofo! I would argue that these are the best reds in Temecula (just beating out Robert Renzoni). This Argentine family has a history of wine making and you can tell. The wines are more refined compared to others in the area. I'm excited to try the 2010 vintage, which was a good year in general for SoCal wines. If you decide to go tasting, make sure to get Damien as your pourer. He really knows the wines...and he's not bad to look at either! (my girls from Longmeadow know what I'm talking about!)

This place is AWESOME! Small, tucked away off the beaten path, etc. I am not a white wine drinker typically, so when we got there for tasting and they told us that they were out of most of their reds for the end of the season, I was disappointed and skeptical. Since we were there anyway and I always like to broaden my horizons, we tried their wines and were very VERY pleased. 1) Sauvignon Blanc; not usually a favorite of mine, but man was this stuff good. Light, flavorful, crisp. 2) Late Harvest Muscat; Not overly sweet and excellent fragrance. 3) Cabernet Sauvignon 2009. Rich and hearty. Bold, but not overpowering. 4) Non-vintage port. Took our glasses of this out to the picnic grounds and sipped and lounged while we ate some of their delicious chimichuri and bread. 5) The wine tenders also threw in a taste of their Zinfandel which isn't released yet but was Super tasty as well as a blend that I can't remember the name of but really enjoyed. We walked out of there with four bottles and having joined the wine club. The staff could not have been nicer and the facilities are unique. The owner is an avid motorcycle fan and that influence is apparent everywhere. Just a fun place!
